connection rod end replacing, steering rod end, rods, tie rod Scenic, Grand Scenic, Renault or any other car,

Hi All

Today steering rods replacing.

Symptoms:
You may hear a little knocking from under the car when going over the bump/speed bumps(traffic calming measures) or when the guy on MOT will tell you;).

There are few types of rods. Each side is different and has a special markings. It is eather I (for RHS) or II (LHS), depends on side of the car. Also the threaded ball stud (or simply bolt) could have a little smart option on it.
More below:
First of all I would suggest to use wire brush and clean rod on both nuts. Then give them a bit of well know WD"" liquid. Next day it would be much easier to deal with it.

I and II markings

You may have a little problem with used rod as it may turn inside the chamber, so the best way is to lock it bu pushing it against the holding nut. That will give you enough friction to keep it fixedly

The smarter option of connection rod end (Allan key) - in case it started turning you can lock it using Allan key. If you have "normal" one do the trick mentioned before

 37Nm

Thanks

Renault long brake pipe, hybrid brake pipe, steel rubber pipe replacing

Very quick and easy job.
As on pictures. Place the new pipe on top on the old one and clip by clip replace it. At the end you will need to bleed your brakes. You can follow instruction from my previous post:

Renault Megane @ MK2 II, service, spark plugs, oil , cabin filter , air filter service guide

Service time
More less it looks like in Grand Scenic so it is not as detailed as it was in Scenic post.

The hardest part of this service was pollen filter. There is very very tight and hardly I was able to change this filter.
