[...] I have seen posts about this problam and some folks say that there is a fuse for the 12v under the left seat, do you know anything about that?

So here you go:

Under passenger seat (UK version - I am not sure is it the same in EU version) you may find few fuses.
But first you have to remove the drawer

You will find on both sides clips which have to be pushed in and the you will easy remove the drawer

Fuses and relay are placed in pretty difficult place to reach, however using the plies will help you to get to the fuse.
Fuse responsible for power in the armrest is pointed by an arrow

Simply step by step how do to do it.
thx

You will need a socket with pretty much extension

Light switch does not work and there is no power in cigarette lighter

Disconnect the power source wire

Removed armrest compartment

Two extra bolt under plastic covers

Check the plug for rust

Light switch

1 of the electrical lamellae is snapped, to small to precise to be fixed so it has to be replaced (not worth it)

Now it is time for cigarette lighter socket:

Needs to be cleaned

Time for a test

It works

Likes and comment are welcome ;)

Thx

  1. Hi I have a problem where the light turns on when I close the sliding cover, I've stripped everything out and can't find the reason, other than I'm missing the small black thing at the top of you photo 9th from the bottom. What is this piece and is it the reason my light is reversed?

  2. hi

please give a closer look to pict 11 and 12 from bottom and also 8 from top. That's clearly shows how the switch works.
Photo 9 I'm not sure as it was a while ago and I don't have that car anymore.
    thanks

  3. It just sucks...I've spent 2 hours playing with a multimeter and this 12V socket. Every time I built it together it works fine, but when connecting something to it, it stops.
Same with that stupid light. It worked once, then nothing. I hate such small electronics where everything you touch just ruins it. Good luck to others with this shit.
Btw, great blog! Thanks for the photos.
